Position Director of Outreach - Canada CyberSTEAM Challenge
Impact Statement Step into the shoes as a mentor-scientist, whether that is at the Interdisciplinary Science Competition, our workshops, or our other programs. From volunteering as a Teaching Assistant for organic chemistry labs to travelling to junior high schools to conduct science experiments, we are looking for dedicated volunteers who is wanting to be a role model and make a lasting impact on the education of Canada’s youth.
Description The Canada CyberSTEAM Challenge is a national competition geared towards high school and junior high students that focused on the creative application of science, technology, engineering, arts and math in real-life scenarios. Join our team of volunteers from all across Canada!

The Directors of Outreach are responsible for assisting in the advertisement of the event to their communities. Directors will be provided with contact information for schools and youth groups in their region, and will be involved in postering, and giving presentations about our event. No experience is required!

NOTE: This opportunity is open to post-secondary students only. If you are interested in helping with outreach and are in high school or junior high, please apply instead to our Ambassador program by contacting [email protected]

Training Details Training in phone calls, emails, and presentations will be provided to all volunteers.
Working Conditions Presentations will take place either virtually or in-person in your geographical region pending COVID regulations.
Minimum Duration 4 - 6 months
Timing Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail hours will take place primarily during the school day, since the role primarily entails contacting schools
