Position Camp Counselor - Catapult camp

We believe we have the best staff in the world - people who work collaboratively and are supportive of one another as well as the youth we serve. Our volunteers return an average of 4 times during their University careers with an average annual 80% return rate. While our staff team works hard to provide a life-changing opportunity to our Catapult youth, it is often our staff who share that their lives have been changed equally.
Description As a volunteer staff member, your primary responsibility will be to look after the safety and general well-being of our campers during their time with us. You will be expected to:
• Get to know all campers
• Work with your staff team to create a memorable experience for all
• Encourage the more timid and introverted campers to participate
• Provide general supervision and discipline
• Assist Camp Directors and teaching resources
• Act as a moderator during Family Shares
• Set up and supervise activities
Training Details Aug 12 & 13 from 8am-6pm daily at Acadia University
Working Conditions We are looking for Camp Counselor Volunteers for one of our summer camps. Counselors will stay in residence accommodations at Acadia University. Accommodations, meals and camp supplies will be provided. Hours of work are approximately 7:30am - 11pm with breaks throughout each day.

Dates are August 12-21, 2024.
There will be an online orientation for new counselors in July (date TBD) and the first two days of camp are training days.

Our students and counsellors alike gain a great deal from their Catapult experience with many staff returning for many years.
