Position: In-School Mentor - In-School Mentoring Program
Description: Do you have one hour per week? Do you like kids? Want to make a difference? You can be an in-school mentor! Mentors spend one hour per week with a child aged 7-12, hanging out on school property during school hours. During that hour you can do anything you both enjoy - draw, play games, go outside, build LEGO, or anything you like! Your job is to be an adult friend who a young person can spend time with and look up to.
Training Details: All mentors receive "Safe from the Start" volunteer training from Big Brothers Big Sisters, which discusses mentoring, safety, and abuse.
Minimum Duration: 4 - 6 months
Timing: Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail: One hour per week, during the school day.
Age: 18+
