Position Special Events Volunteer
Impact Statement The Museum's Mission is to collect, preserve and exhibit the history of the Annapolis Valley from Windsor to Digby, and to tell the history of the Valley and it's people by collecting, preserving and interpreting artifacts, archival material and exhibits. Volunteers are needed to assist with collections management, fundraising activities and guest services.
Description Reporting to the Volunteer Coordinator and/or the Museum Director, the Special Events Volunteer may:
• Sell event tickets
• Assist Museum Staff with set up and tear down of special events
• Handling small amounts of money as required
• Greet guests
• Assist with food setup and cleanup
• Answer public inquiries
• Refer complaints/issues to Museum Directors
• Assist with other related tasks
Training Details Training and Orientation to be provided by Museum staff
Working Conditions The volunteer should
• Enjoy working with Public
• Have the ability to stand for long periods of time
• have a basic knowledge of Museum and it's fundraising goals
• have the ability to work independently
• Have the ability to work with Museum Staff and Volunteers
Minimum Duration 3 months or less
