As a House or Family Room volunteer your role is to provide a warm and welcoming environment for our guest families. This role requires charismatic individuals who are comfortable greeting guests and will help ensure that families that visit us feel safe and comfortable and have the information they’ll need throughout their visit. Volunteers will provide a range of support, including arranging activities, play time with kids, baking treats for our families, and engaging with visitors of all ages to ensure they feel “at home”. Volunteers will also contribute to the upkeep of our family spaces. Our House and Family Room Volunteers are asked to commit a four hour weekly shift for a minimum of eight months. Candidates must pass our screening procedure and be at least 18 years old. |

Each day at Ronald McDonald House brings something new, allowing volunteers to contribute in various ways: 1. Welcoming and lending a listening ear to families 2. Housekeeping 3. Assisting in the kitchen and baking 4. Organizing and hosting activities for children |
| Training Details | A training shift will be conducted with an experienced volunteer. The trainer will use a checklist as a support tool. |
| Working Conditions | Volunteering at a house with 4 levels and lots of stairs. Volunteers may or may not assist with carrying light furniture. Light housekeeping tasks are crucial to our care for the families. Materials will be provided for your shifts. |
