Description |
The clothing sale is a resident facilitated program offered to residents of Northwood. Residents are given the opportunity to engage in a work like setting with their peers. Residents from our Younger Generation referral list are selected to support the sale based on program entrance criteria and general interest. The volunteer’s role is to primarily support the resident within this facilitation. Volunteers for the clothing sale are responsible for supporting successful resident participation in both program facilitation and program participation. Volunteer tasks could include but are not limited to providing accessible set ups for residents to participate, sorting clothing with residents, supporting residents to display clothing for sale, cashier support, helping attendees find clothing sections, assist in maintaining a safe environment for attendees, etc. |
Training Details | Wheel chair training. Social Connection support. Special training if person has dementia or mental health concerns. |
Working Conditions | Group work with multiple residents for prep for sale. Hands on during clothing sale. Staff present throughout program. |
