Tremont Community Cemetery Society
We are a group of volunteers who took over the care of the Old and New Tremont Cemeteries when the Baptist Church left the community. Our motto: "Working Today to Reclaim and Preserve our Past to Share with our Future". The Old Tremont Cemetery is a closed cemetery that is now a designated heritage property. The New Tremont Cemetery is the active cemetery. We have four community volunteer work days during the year (spring cleanup, late summer spruce-up, and a fall leaf raking day at each of the cemeteries)and the regular ongoing maintenance (mowing, whipper snipping, cleaning, repairs, etc.) is also all volunteer. The society has its own equipment while some volunteers prefer to use their own. We have a voting membership of 30 with 9 directors.
