Description Disaster Response Team members conduct damage assessments, disaster mapping, debris management, hazard mitigation, expedient home repair, and spontaneous volunteer management. Disaster Response Team members are versatile, agile and able to operate in austere conditions. They are action oriented, and ready to get stuff done.
Disaster Response team members are not required to make a regular time commitment. You set your availability, you decide how much training you want to take on. We provide the training, the equipment, the transportation, accommodation, and food. Typically, if you volunteer to deploy internationally, you'll be asked to commit to a two week deployment. For something else where in Canada. we'll ask you to commit for a week, and for anything locally, you can volunteer for as little as an hour.
Training Details We provide all required training. Training is conducted in person, virtually, and with on line training modules.
Working Conditions All work is done under qualified supervison, with all appropriate PPE provided and following local, Provincial and national Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines
