About the Position
Position # 2226
OrganizationNova Scotia ACORN
Position Phone Outreach Volunteers
Impact Statement We are a non-profit, but unlike other non-profits we can't rely on the government or big businesses to fund the work that we do because we are fighting them for changes. Because of this, we operate on a shoestring budget with very limited resources and we are always in need of volunteers to help with outreach, data entry, phone calls, and actions. Each volunteer would have a massive impact on the day-to-day of the organization.

Our volunteer hours are very flexible, we are in greatest need for people who can help with data entry from petition sheets. This can be done from home on your own time through a shared Google drive.

We are also always looking for eager volunteers who can put up posters around town, flyer apartment buildings for upcoming events and protests, and help with making signs and posters for actions!
Description ACORN is holding a rally for Rent Control on Thursday, September 23rd and we need volunteers to help call people and invite them to the action! Most of our members are low-income and can't afford Internet or don't have Facebook, phone calls are the only way we can get in touch with them about events.

We are looking for folks who can help out with phone calls on their own time, using a phone-in system called Callhub. Lots of training required! Very flexible hours.

We always have a need for this, not just for our rally, so there's plenty of room to volunteer for longer in the future!
Training Details We need a quick 15-20 minute phone call or Zoom call to set up the system and go over everything, beyond that you're good to go!
