Position Social Connect Volunteer - Social Connect
Impact Statement COVID-19 has significantly impacted participants’ abilities to socialize and connect with others. By volunteering with us, you can help improve the life of someone with a disability by helping them to feel less isolated and to help them create new social connections.
Description March of Dimes Canada is a non for profit organization that works with individuals with physical disabilities. We are launching a new program called Social Connect and we are recruiting volunteers to join our team

This is a peer support program that matches volunteers with participants with disabilities that may have similar interests to help reduce feelings of social isolation, and to provide support.

Volunteers and the participants will meet up at least once a month for 30 to 60 minutes to spend time together and connect socially.
Training Details Training will be provided so you will learn more about MODC, the social connect program and about persons with disabilities.
Working Conditions This program is currently being offered virtually or over the phone.
Minimum Duration 3 months or less
Timing Anytime
Time Detail The timing will be dependent on the volunteer and the participant's personal schedules.
