Impact Statement | Halifax (K'jipuktuk) is hosting the 2020 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) in July 2020 which will be the largest multi-sporting event to be held in Nova Scotia. Marking the first time the Games will be held in Atlantic Canada, this event will take place over eight days from July 12 – 18, 2020, and will include more than 5,000 Indigenous sport and cultural youth participants from over 756 nations in 17 sporting disciplines. Events will be held at various locations in Halifax Regional Municipality and Millbrook. 2020 will mark the 10th edition of the Games. |
Description |
The Information Technology Lead is responsible to ensure all venue-specific IT needs are met such as computers, printers, data, wireless, sound systems, all communication services or public address services. Working closely with Sport Results/Scheduling Rep, provide IT support with the Sport Result System. Any sport specific IT information will be relayed to the SOC via the Sport Chair. During Games time, the IT Lead will respond to inquiries regarding IT and work with other venue teams to resolve communication problems timely. Develop and manage radio check-in and check-out process. Qualifications: Understanding of the telecommunication services, video and audio systems and office equipment technology. Experience with leadership volunteer positions leading subcommittee of volunteers Strong communication, planning organizational skills Ability to make quick, sound decisions under difficult situations |
