Description Haliburton Place is a Long-Term Care Facility offering residents the comfort of home through one on one personal care, recreational and social activities and outings within the community. The Pet Visitor program provides touch therapy and enjoyment to our residents.

Skills required:
- certified St. John Ambulance Pet Therapy Volunteer
- ability to interact with elderly population
- patience
- good communication skills / verbal and listening
- pet owner must be able to verify that their pet is healthy, has
appropriate vaccinations, and has a friendly temperament
- willingness to commit to weekly or bi-weekly visits
Training Details General orientation provided by Volunteer Services. Role specific orientation provided by the Recreation Therapy Department.
Minimum Duration 7 - 12 months
Timing Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime, Weekend - Evening
