The Nova Scotia League for Equal Opportunities is looking for readers with a disability or extensive knowledge of a disability. With the support of the Accessibility Directorate and funding from the Canada Post Foundation, ReadABILITY has launched and we are seeking qualified volunteers to be our story tellers! You will be donating your valuable time in raising awareness through first voice in reading stories to children in your community. |
Training Details: |
Each program is 30–40 minutes in length, should be engaging and interactive, and should include a variety of activities. Presenters work with library and League staff to develop engaging and relevant program content. Teachers or leaders of children’s groups may also be engaged in the planning process. |
Working Conditions: | Programs may be drop-in programs, or may be arranged in collaboration with schools, daycares, preschools, homeschooling groups, play groups, community children’s programs, etc. |
Minimum Duration: | 3 months or less |
