Description |
Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentors (Bigs) are matched with children/youth and spend time engaging in activities enjoyable to both. Effective mentoring involves developing a positive/meaningful relationship between the mentor (Big) and the mentee (Little). An individual applying to be a Big should be able to commit to at least 18 months service after being accepted. Outings generally take place 1x per week or 1x every other week for a few hours. |
Training Details | Training is provided by BBBS Agency staff. Ongoing support and coaching is provided throughout programme involvement. |
Working Conditions | Community based programme. Bigs pick up their Little and return them home after outings. |
