Position: Volunteer Mentor for Children/Youth - Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Big Couples
Location: 136 Exhibition Street, Kentville, NS, Canada
Impact Statement: By spending a few hours a month with a young person, Bigs develop positive and impactful relationships with a young person.
Description: Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentors (Bigs) are matched with children/youth and spend time engaging in activities enjoyable to both. Effective mentoring involves developing a positive/meaningful relationship between the mentor (Big) and the mentee (Little).

An individual applying to be a Big should be able to commit to at least 18 months service after being accepted. Outings generally take place 1x per week or 1x every other week for a few hours.
Training Details: Training is provided by BBBS Agency staff. Ongoing support and coaching is provided throughout programme involvement.
Working Conditions: Community based programme. Bigs pick up their Little and return them home after outings.
Minimum Duration: More than 1 year
Timing: Anytime
Time Detail: Schedule is determined in collaboration with child/youth the volunteer is matched with.
