Position: Volunteer Tutor - Several types for chidren, teens and adults (e.g. Homework Club, Reading Club, Adult education upgrade.
Location: Halifax, NS, Canada
Impact Statement: Our volunteers enrich the lives of our learners and help them to succeed in education and life. In so doing they also enrich their own lives.
Description: There are no special qualifications to be a volunteer tutor; just empathy, reliability, creativity, and age 14 or older.

We ask that you tutor for one or two hours per week, depending on the program.

You will choose from a variety of program options:
- Halifax or Dartmouth
- Children, Youth or Adults
- Week nights or Saturday morning
- Several potential topics; Homework support, reading support, youth academic support(math, science, homework, English language skills), adult education upgrading, family literacy, and English language support.
Training Details: You will receive a personal interview to help you choose the program that suits you best.

You will attend our four hour tutor training session.

You will receive ongoing support.
Working Conditions: All of our tutoring is done in public places (e.g. community centres, schools and libraries).
Minimum Duration: 3 months or less
Timing: Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime
Time Detail: ONE OR TWO HOURS PER WEEK.
