Impact Statement |
The Halifax Busker Festival is made possible in many ways through the help of our volunteers. It’s a chance to gain experience, make connections, meet new friends, see some amazing performances, and create lasting memories. You can help us in various roles including: Stage Managers; Information Booth; Runners; Barricades; Transportation. Visit our website https://www.buskers.ca/ to learn more about the Festival, our volunteer opportunities, and to sign up. |
Description |
The Information Booth is important because our patrons can turn to you for information about the Festival including the performers, stage locations and showtimes. We will give you everything you need to know about the Festival so you can answer folk's questions. Knowledge of the waterfront and HRM is not required, as you won't be expected to answer those kinds of questions. |
Training Details |
Festival Volunteers will receive a training guide with detailed instructions for their roles, and will attend an orientation session prior to the Festival. Festival staff are onsite at all times to provide support. |
Working Conditions |
The Halifax Buskers Festival is an outdoor festival that runs all day for a full week. We remind our volunteers to dress appropriately for the weather, to always wear sunscreen, and most importantly to stay hydrated. Water is provided, but volunteers must bring their own reusable bottles. Our Info Booths are set-up as standing booths, however accommodations may be provided on a case-by-base basis for volunteers unable to stand for extended periods of time. There is one Info Booth located on each Waterfront. Volunteers will only be scheduled to work one waterfront per shift, and will not be required to travel between Halifax and Dartmouth sites. If a volunteer is required to travel between waterfronts, the Festival Transport team will provide transportation. In addition to a Festival Volunteer t-shirt, volunteers will each receive a Halifax Transit pass for free use of busses and ferries for the week of the Festival. Headquarters are located within walking distance of the Halifax Waterfront and the Alderney Landing terminals. |
