Position General Collections Volunteer - Danish Translation

Impact Statement The museum's incredible volunteers contribute to all areas of the Museum and enrich our vistors' experience daily. Our Collection volunteers assist the department with a variety of administrative projects behind the scenes of the Museum. Although the public doesn't see them, these volunteers are an integral part of the Museum team and contribute the overall success of the Museum.
Description Assist Collections department with various administrative projects, as needed.
Responsibilities to be determined based on project. Volunteer activities could include:
Updating binders, filing, typing summaries, etc.
General Danish translation of documents from Danish to English for working purposes (not formal translation).

Skills required:
Attention to detail
Sensitivity to confidential information
Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
Interest in museum collections
Basic computer literacy
Bilingualism (Danish/English) required
French language is an asset
Training Details Training/Preparation:
Collections Manager or Collections Coordinator will provide instruction and all pertinent information necessary to perform tasks.
Supervision: This position reports to the Collections Manager or Collections Coordinator.
Working Conditions Volunteers at the Museum are required to have a Criminal Record Check completed and submitted prior to engaging in volunteer activities at the Museum. Volunteers must review and sign the Code of Conduct annually.
Working conditions: Sitting for long periods of time. Work with difficult or sensitive content.
Note: on-site working conditions are in an open area office space. This role could potentially be a remote (off site) opportunity.
Minimum Duration 7 - 12 months
Timing Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail Time/Place: Project based. With provincial health restrictions volunteers may be required to work off site from home. Without health restrictions in place the volunteer could be scheduled onsite at the Museum. Monday through Friday, typically between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Maximum three hours per shift, maximum two shifts per week.
