Position Research Assistant - Museum historical research
Impact Statement We are seeking volunteers to assist us in achieving our aims and objectives in support of the Greenwood Military Aviation Museum. We have 9 different committees executing a variety of functions, from research and artifact control to hands-on restoration and maintenance of historical aircraft and other artifacts. We are very interested in volunteers who are familiar with aircraft repair and restoration and associated techniques, who could either lead a team or work as a team member on one of several aircraft related projects. Leadership, technical or managerial skills while not specifically required as a volunteer would however be most valuable to our efforts
Description Member of a team researching Canadian Air Force history and specific events from 1941 - present day
Training Details Preferred candidates will have, as a minimum, computer literacy and some competency and experience with the internet
Working Conditions All in-Museum work is supervised and is conducted in a heated and air conditioned building, equipped with computers and internet access. Work can be done anywhere and either taken to the Museum or emailed to the supervisor
Minimum Duration 3 months or less
Timing Anytime
Time Detail Supervised work at Museum can be Tuesday mornings from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Unsupervised work or special requirements at the Museum can be done anytime the Museum is open: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm September to May, and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm June to August. Much of the required work can be done at home
