Position Special Care Floor Volunteer - Nursing
Impact Statement Volunteers are essential to providing support for the many programs that enhance quality of life for the 6000 clients we serve. The over 500 volunteers contribute their talent, skill and time to Northwood. They make a difference in the lives of residents and seniors in the community, and continue to be a vital part of the Northwood community.
Description Visit with individuals living with dementia or other cognitive impairments. Working closely with care staff to create a positive environment for residents in Spcial Care. Offering to help with daily living activities such as reading newspapers, playing cards, listening to music.
Training Details Volunteers will be trained by nursing staff.
Working Conditions Work environment can be emotionally challenging at times.
Minimum Duration 7 - 12 months
Timing Anytime
Time Detail First visit must be between 7am and 3pm to obtain training from registered nurse.
