Position Volunteer Driver
Impact Statement BayRides Volunteer Drivers are making a difference in their community by helping people stay connected with essential services, such as medical appointments, shopping, groceries, employment, education and so much more.
Description Thank you for your interest in becoming a Volunteer Driver for BayRides. Contributions of people like you help make St. Margaret’s Bay a supportive and inclusive community.

BayRides offers door-to-door accessible and affordable transportation to all residents of the St. Margaret’s Bay area. One of the ways we provide rides is through our Volunteer Driver Program in which Volunteer Drivers provide transportation to BayRides’ passengers using their own personal vehicles, or one of BayRides' vehicles. Volunteer Drivers transport passengers to destinations around St. Margaret’s Bay for medical, shopping, social and recreational purposes. Periodically, and if you are in agreement, rides outside of St. Margaret’s Bay may be required. Volunteer Drivers using their own vehicles are a very important and valued part of the BayRides system and we truly appreciate your involvement.
Training Details Training is provided by our Head Driver and our Dispatcher. It includes review of all policies and procedures, direction on how to complete required paperwork, and a review of safe driving practices.
Working Conditions Volunteers decide where, when and how often they drive and are reimbursed for mileage when using their own vehicles. Driving one of BayRides vehicles is also an option. We have a non-owned vehicle insurance policy.
