Impact Statement Volunteer opportunities across NSHA are as diverse as the volunteers themselves. There are over 7,000 dedicated and highly motivated people sharing talents, building skills, enhancing the patient and family experience, and strengthening the community.
Description The Jr. Volunteer program provides an avenue for youth to be exposed to the value of helping others in a healthcare and/or service delivery setting by offering a rewarding experience to youth. Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) is planting the seed for future support of volunteering. Early exposure to the benefits derived from volunteering can instill a commitment that may continue throughout a lifetime.

Jr. Volunteers are an integral part of the team who provide support and services for NSHA. The Jr. Volunteer program is designed for youth 15-18 years of age.
Training Details Initial interview and general orientation
Orientation and training to the location where the Jr. Volunteer will be working will be provided by the assigned placement supervisor
Minimum Duration 4 - 6 months
Timing Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime
Time Detail Two hours per week
Minimum commitment 6 months
Age 15+
