Nova Scotia Mikmaw Summer Games
The Nova Scotia Mi'kmaw Summer Games Initiative was established to bring Mi'kmaw communities within the Atlantic Canada Region together to compete at a higher level of sports, show case and share Mi'kmaw culture and traditions. The games are a premier multi-faceted sporting event which includes a number of sporting categories including team, individual, traditional, and leisure. As the 2019 Host, we wish to showcase our beautiful community to promote tourism and the hospitality industry. We are anticipating approximately 2500 Athletes with addition to spectators.
Our organization is preparing for the 2019 Nova Scotia Mi'kmaw Summer Games as our community of We'koqma'q First Nation is Host, August 18th-25th, 2019. We've built a Host committee within the process and currently meet on a regular basis. It is our Job to assure that our games are hosted to the full potential and we succeed with a legacy that our 2020 NSMSG host would carry. The success from our past games has helped expand through athletes, spectators, events and the tourist industry.
